Professor Trevor Lithgow
Professor Lithgow is an ARC Australian Laureate Fellow in the Department of Microbiology at Monash University and leads a research team in the Biomedicine Discovery Institute. The Lithgow lab includes postdoctoral researchers and postgraduate students, all members of the NHMRC Program in Cellular Microbiology.
The Lithgow lab has expertise in molecular biology, cellular microbiology, bacterial cell biology and bioinformatics. Current research projects include the discovery of new protein transport machines in bacteria, understanding the assembly of protein transport machines, and dissecting the effects of anti-microbial peptides on anti-biotic resistant “super-bugs”..
